WebI like to keep the hide glue at 145-150°F. It needs to stay hot enough to use, without overheating, which causes the proteins in the glue to denature. I decided that a hot wax warmer, with a variable thermostat and removable pot, was the perfect solution, but only if the thermostat is accurate. I use the pot daily.
